Charles Allen, CPA, CFP, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1943. He attended Tulane University and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1964. Prior to starting his own practice, he was associated with Deloitte and Touche and KMPG Peat Marwick. In the past, he served as an adjunct instructor of accounting at Tulane University.
He the founder and a shareholder of the firm of Allen & Baxter (A Professional Accounting Corp.), located in Metairie, Louisiana. He practices in the areas of income and estate taxation, small business consulting, personal financial planning, investment management, accounting and auditing. He has over thirty years of experience in public accounting, with over twelve years of experience as a Certified Financial Planner.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and was co-founder of the Gulf Coast Society of the ICFP.
He has served as trustee and treasurer of The Louise S. McGehee School and St. George’s Episcopal School. He is currently a board member and treasurer of the St. Tammany Historical Society.
